I will never forget laying eyes on my 1948 Ford for the first time. I had been searching for a “woodie” for five years, and I found this one in Orange County, Calif. The car was very tired. The paint and chrome were in awful shape, and the back seats had been torn out to make room for surfboards some 50 years earlier.
