The beloved Scottie dog is safe. But the same can’t be said for the thimble, boot or wheelbarrow.
Those three Monopoly tokens, fixtures of the timeless and untimed board game, have been ousted, by popular vote. Although the thimble and boot have been part of the game since its debut in 1935, and the wheelbarrow since 1950, they will be replaced in August by new tokens representing animals, not commerce.
